Lying on the south-eastern coast of Buenos Aires province, Mar del Plata can be easily reached by road. Crowds of tourists arrive in the city from Buenos Aires by Autovía 2 (freeway). They do so either by car or bus, the latter being modern coaches, with numerous daily frequencies that cover demands round the clock. The inter-resorts Ruta 11 (road) connects beach resorts with the north of Mar del Plata, Ruta 88, stretches to and from the south, while Ruta 226 follows a NW-SE direction along Buenos Aires province.
